Seasons greetings to one and all.
A word of thanks to my fellow site reviewers for their valuable insights and also to contributors like Bissie and Pentaman; most of all to Zeus for allowing us to have this meeting place and share our enthusiasm for hi-resolution (surround) sound.
Good wishes to those, like Bissie, who have suffered (or more unfortunately are still suffering) health problems - may you all (continue to) recover.
Lastly, an olive branch to those who I have crossed swords with over the last twelve months - may we all find greater tolerance and understanding of our mutual positions.

Thanks a lot, Zeus, for continuing this website and promoting the SACD. At least 3/4 of the SACD's I purchased the last two years I have in fact discovered thanks to your website. I'm convinced sa-cd.net has a singnificant influence on the persistence of this format which offers us better sound and, thanks to multichannel audio, a much more realistic reproduction of the recorded performances.
Thank you, Merry Christmas and happy new year !

Thanks all for the kind comments. It looks like the format will be around for a while yet, thanks to the ongoing support of the community here.
Have a good one everyone!

Since no one else has expressed appreciation for your success in overseeing a very lively and informative website, I wish to thank you, Zeus, for NOT only running a tight ship but helping to keep the format alive. Perhaps in the new year we can somehow form a petition and present it to SONY (USA) since the posters on your blog seem to number in the thousands. In the meantime, Happy Holidays and may 2009 hopefully see some new and much-needed activity in the SACD arena. Thank you!
Agreed. Terrific site and my go-to SACD resource.

I can only echo the sentiments already expressed here. Thank you, Stephen, for the time and effort you have put in to running this marvellous site. There aren't many sites that I visit on a daily basis, but this is certainly one of them.

Dear Zeus,
Don´t know who you are but let me say this - SACDs play an important part in my life! Where would we be without SA-CD.net?
Keep up the good work - we´re depending on you!!!

zeus* is a many-talented polymath** who has better things to do than to play god on a feisty web-forum. I believe he is happiest when he is trekking around less populous parts of SE Australia, loaded down with camera equipment***. He also seems to enjoy tweaking his film photos in PhotoShop -- and I am sure he is quite pleased when he sells a large print. From what I have seen on-web, I am utterly cowed by his artistic eye and technical finesse.
Stephen/zeus is also a cyber-geek par excellence, having hand-built everything about this website, conceptually, technically and aesthetically****. It has evolved over the years, always to the great approval of those of us who hang out here. His 'interpersonal skills set' is likewise admirable, since like a good 18th century deist superior-being, he is almost always content to let the mere mortals hack each other to pieces without divine intervention*****. And he is courageous: he threw out / sold on the web his vast collection of LPs, to make room for SACDs and/or unclutter his life.
Most importantly, his little hobby (this website) deserves large credit for the survival of SACD as a musical medium. We must not merely thank Stephen, we must honour him as a cultural hero. All hail zeus!
_________ * Lower-case 'z', to express his humility, even though he is the all-powerful creator of the sa-cd world. ** No relation to Polly Nomial, the math teacher. *** Not your garden-variety digital point 'n' shoot either: analogue! He was beside himself with joy some while ago when he became owner of a vintage teak-and-titanium bellows jobbie. **** I.e. He didn't 'commandeer' it, as in 'seize control', he hewed the timbers, laid the keel and rigged it to the flying-jib -- and 'commands' it very handsomely. ***** Be warned: lightning bolts have been tossed!

Again, SACD proves its superiority over "other hi-rez formats" simply by having more devoted fans. This website is so well organized and informative it is a "must read" for any serious SACD fan. Jazz fans, classical music fans, pop fans all come together united by their dedication to sound quality. This web-site reminds us that there was a great internet once before it got totally commercialized. Great job, zeus. Thank you.
