There is nothing new here. The computer can record and process DSD signals, no less, nor more.

The word "SACD" is inappropriate in that context. You will not be able to listen to SACDs (hi-rez layer) with this PC, nor can you make SACDs with it.

DSD is a data format, SACD is a disc format.

The "DSD disc" seems pretty useless to me, given it's limited specifications and compatibility.

You might be part right here Claude.

One states:...
The Sony VAIO JS1 is especially suitable for audio-visual applications. Key features include an Intel Core 2 Duo processor E7200, 3072MB RAM, 500GB HDD and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD. There’s also Dolby Home Theatre technology on board to create virtual surround sound effects. A specific feature is Sony Sound Reality, an inbuilt signal processor to play Super Audio CD. It enables the PC user to record and play music files in SA-CD quality.
interesting..
Another listing states that the sideways Drive (Ugh) is either a DVD or Blue Ray option.
Incidently Sony are being sued in Texas USA for appartly using an optical system for producng images.(roughly translated) The copyright is held by some firm from way back in the 1990s.Should be a laugh.Even though I remember something about Nintendo losing a case there.
I wonder whether buying a new illegal format is really acceptable.LOL.Time will tell.

It is as of now: http://vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProductCategory.action?site=voe_en_GB_cons&category=VD+JS+Series

Interestingly, there is no mention of DSD or SACD in that series but there is in the L series!

Interesting to know, is it left hand not knowing the right hand ? syndrome within Sony.
This thread becomes more of a joke by the minutes.
Might as well put my money back in my wallet.
