a first listen suggests this to be a superb performance. magnificent conducting and playing, and a final movement both sad and beautiful.

Sometimes amazon's pre-release prices come from a pick-a-number school of pricing. I got mine from jpc.de having saved up an order till it came out!

I've been listening to this in my car (stereo) and in my home (surround) for several weeks now.
A very good performance and recording -- highly recommended. Now that it's actually released, you can find more reasonable pricing thru the Amazon marketplace.
