I finally decided to shell out some cash and get the UK boxset (with the SACDs) before it goes out of print.

Very nice boxset, excellent sound quality.

Big complaint: the packaging for the "Lamb lies down on Broadway" discs is very elegant... but it has an awful tendency to scratch the discs (they are inserted into tight paper sleeves integrated in the carton packaging). Why don't record companies use their brain? A normal double/triple jewel case (like for the other albums) would have been less elegant, but MUCH better! I don't want my SACDs to get scratched even if I treat them with maximum care!

I use the type of round bottom inner CD sleeves often used in mini LP packaging.

Yep,

My big gripe is Rhino blocking the sale of these to the USA. Releasing a similar product to confuse and control. I was hoping to buy individual discs, and ended up shelling out $80 for the Lamb from HMV Japan. It was a tough pill to swallow.

For those who R interested in buying SA-CD releases only I would recommend this listing, which states "all 14 SA-CD albums and not their DVD-Audio counterparts" for some 150 USD altogether.

Subject of auction is as shown on photos only. No boxes only single tray standard jewelcases.

Take it or leave it.

Your review of this set today reports DR values. Would you mind telling us where these numbers came from?

Foobar2000 if you are on a PC. You can also search this site or download the software.

Its a helpful tool, but everyone's ears should determine what sound they like.

Thanks for clarifying that, AG.

I listened to Lamb Lies on Broadway on imported Vinyl and I think the 5.1 remix from this box set is nothing short of spectacular. As mentioned previously, I LOVE ALL the Genesis 5.1 remasters and am glad to have them on SACD.

Can I ask how you rip the SACD to analyse in Foobar? I've seen others reporting SACD DR info over at dr.loudness-war.info (great site btw! I use their tool often to check out my old CDs which is the only thing I could get working on the Mac to get DR info) and been fascinated as to how these guys work around the SACD encryption without the PS3 hack etc to get DR info from the SACD 2.0/5.1 layers (apologies in advance if I'm asking an elementary grade Qn.!)

the Peter Gabriel era sounds nice but the 80's stuff is SOOO super bright, rammie! Invisible Touch almost makes my lugholes bleed! :-o

As I mentioned, ADAM, I'm having completely new DACS installed in the Meridian and I will play them again. I treat my discs and they sound like master tapes..........do not care what the naysayers think.

Spectacular bass and 'absolute' pinpointing of all vocal and instrumental parts, front and rear. You'd be astonished at the before and after difference.

I guess...... my dirty secret......but hardly dirty.
