He (Smith) says "Disintegration" will feature a bonus disc of new remixes, and that he's pushing for "Wish" to include a new 5.1 audio mix.

"People seem to want to kill that off, which is a shame," he says of that format. "It's far and away the most fantastic way of listening to music."

Yes..Here I think he is refering to DVD 5.1 surround music and I think if he feels they are tring to kill that off what chance does SACD 5.1 have???...I agree w/Claude...we will be lucky to get a DVD 5.1 let alone a SACD/DVD 5.1 like the Depeche mode albums.

I hate to be pessimistic but it don't look good :(

More pop and rock albums will come as 5.1 high def.
Not only as SACD, but also as DVD-Audio.
King Crimson is working on the entire catalog to published in 5.1 and Porsupine Tree will also come with a new album in 5.1.
So I don’t think High Res MC for pop/rock is not dead yet.

I'm checking Amazon and the like almost everyday for news on "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. It was rumoured to be released within the next month or so, but there are no official confirmations to be found anywhere.

I have the hard to find quad mix on CD, but it's muddy in some parts and that's not what an audiophile wants to hear when it comes to this particular album, lol.

Cheers,

Dan
