I think that was the suites not the sonatas.

Is this definitely not an SACD? If not, it's not a good sign as it does seem extraordinary to release it as RBCD only, particularly on the LS label which has been issuing SACD only for what is now years. (That's the point I was hinting at.) PS I can't find this one on the LS website, either. Is it actually an old release?
For release this year. I'm guessing SACD as that's what the label does!
New Recording of the complete organ works of Hans Gál, including his Two Religious Songs and the Concertino for Organ and String Orchestra.
By Istvan Matyas (organ) with Adrineh Simonean, member of the Volksoper Vienna (mezzo-soprano), David Pennetzdorfer (cello, winner of several international competitions), and the orchestra "Wiener Akademie", conducted by Martin Haselböck.
The recording will be released by NCA (Hamburg) some time in 2006.

It was released in 2001 under the Living Stereo banner, but is now OOP. Maybe, as you say, BMG is just reissuing it in honor of Nilsson. I would think that it would be much easier to rush a redbook into print, especially since no modifications need to be made to the liner notes, than a SACD.
