Latest update from braindamage regarding wywh sacd:
Expected in 2008:
Wish You Were Here SACD (Super Audio CD)
One of the most anticipated releases, that is still not on a confirmed release footing, is the Super Audio CD (SACD) of Wish You Were Here. This has been promised for some time, and indeed, in Storm Thorgerson's latest edition of Mind Over Matter, he showcases the artwork for the release which he states "is due in February 2008". However, this date is NOT confirmed, and this is the latest information we have on this. As we get further information on this, we will update this page.

Thanks for the update. That is definitely one album I'd put my cash up front to get on day of release.
As an aside, yes vinyl is making some sort of comeback but It'll never get me to go back to it.

Although it says 'last updated 03 June 2008', the same news item has been on that site for months. I would buy that release too, along with The Wall (no, I haven't heard about plans to release it on SACD, before you ask ;-)), and I do not understand why the secrecy about WYWH at EMI. This all may be a hoax :-(
But let's hope for the best. I am almost absolutely sure, if WYWH gets released, sales will prove that it is worth for record companies to release rock SACD, so it may create a late boost for releases ;-)

Argh. I am tearing down the walls waiting for some news on this release. But nothing. Zilch. Nada. Not even unsubstantiated rumours or hints.
If we are all waiting in vain and it has been discontinued I sure hope they'd have the decency to come up with it already...

In the current issue of UK music magazine, Mojo, there's an interview with Pink Floyd leader/guitarist. In the interview, he mentioned that the surround version of WYWH (no format mentioned) will eventually get released. However, he mentioned he heard issues in the mix that has to be resolved before it will get released.
That's the latest.
Oh....no more Pink Floyd on tour.
