I would like to know the effective sales in all the world of SACD discs.
It is not important the difference between true only SACD and Hybrid SACD as RIAA desires to indicate to favorite its dead system (dvd-a).
I want to know how many SACD discs (total number) have sold this year, last year, two years ago... and so on... :-)

WHY ?

Hello!

I don't want to answer for Perigo but, for my part, I would be inrested in having a better idea of the evolution of the SACD along the years, not only in terms of releases but also in terms of sales. I would also be curious to know how many of the 4809 SACDs found in this site are now out of print. Just out of curiosity.

To understand why RIAA insists every years to tell same old story about the SACD sales so low, basing its statistics on "pure SACD" discs only.
Why no statistics about hybrid discs?

Does RIAA (SoundScan) track sales just from "big box" retailers?

I don't think the RIAA insists, but rather they are clueless about SACD, like 90% of all music business executives.

I don't find "meaningless" to understand where is collocated exactly (in one niche of the market) our "preferred" system.
We can know how many LPs they sell, how many CDs they sell, but never it has been possible to know the exact numbers of how many SACDs are all around the world in the houses of all us.
I am strongly interested to know those numbers, and if it has been possible to know how many visitors opened sa-cd.net, it could be just a little more interesting to know how many SACDs they sold.

Hi Perigo, I will try again.
The information for Riaa is collected from Some Large musical chain stores from Barcodes.Note , these barcodes are the same sometimes for sacds and the follow up Cds..Ie the Animals Retrospective. Some discs have the same code for both CD and sacd.Even when the item has slight difference in description ie Dolly Partons discs have sacd/cd they appear to be shown as Cds.Certain Labels are not included..All foreign labels are not included// etc.

You are trying to read some information fom something which isnt their to produce the exact type of informationyou want.
I dont think the information you want IS available anywhere?..
Also you state "We can know how many Cds/Lps etc" Wrong again..
The number of albums certain artists claim to have sold worldwide is always greater than the number of pressings.????? Sometimes these numbers are generated from Radio airplays and sometimes sales from one distributor and then re estimated.Hence the marketing agent for a band will Buy copies from these stores and resell to shops/dealers.
I agree It would be interesting but I buy sacds to listen to first and foremost. It also stops money going into other other shopping areas..Dave

The only real way to know would be if music companies made the numbers public (even though this would only be 'sell-in', not sell-through i.e. it would not account for stocks in the trade) but I don't expect they ever will.
