this seems to be the only multichannel mahler 7 accessible to the european purchaser - a fairly odd (and irritating) situation, given that there's a lot of other MC mahler available.

does anybody know of any likely/impending sources of an MC 7th?

alternatively, a few more comments on this recording would be very helpful. i hesitate to buy it as i didn't really warm to either interpretation or recording of the mahler 2 i bought in this series.

The extrovert sections are exciting and virtuosic, but IMHO MTT tends to push through the "magical" sections, (such as the beautiful "moonlit" music of the first mov't), missing the said magic and delicacy. If this section and the 3rd mov't are most interesting to you, the best I've heard are Sinopoli/Philharmonia and Levine/Chicago, sadly not SACD

many thanks - it's probably the opening movement and finale i'm most often drawn to. i've always wanted to hear the sinopoli....
