I don't mind. Do as you wish.

Dear Robert

I do not really care about the boxes as such, but I do care that the SACDs are easily distinguishable from CDs, especially as many stores mix them together in the new release section, making it hard to sort out the news SACDs if the boxes are the same.

Thanks for all the great recordings

John

Robert:

I've found them difficult and expensive to replace when they break, so it would not be an issue for me. Praga does it and it hasn't kept me from buying their discs!

Thanks,
Bret

Go for the standard box. The expensive curved cornered box is not necessary.

agreed.

i like digipaks myself. i wonder how much they cost compared to a regular RBCD case?

The standard box suits me fine. In fact, I prefer it.

Whilst the visual aspect of the round corners is more appealing to me, if that prevents more releases being SACD then I love squares! The sound and music is more important than the container...

BTW - eagerly awaiting the (UK) completion of the LvB piano concerto cycle!

Hence my question: what would the members of this Forum say, if we were to change to standard RBCD Jewel Boxes, only marking the SACD status through a different colour on the spine, possibly a transparent tray with the caption SACD under, the sticker, and a different lay-out of the Inlay-card?

Whaddayathink?

Robert

I buy CDs judging only by their content (music, playing, technical quality...) not by their box. I indeed prefer standard boxes, as they are way easier to replace when broken than sacd's box or digipack.

I hope that by discarding the sacd boxes, you'll be able to produce every new release on sacd.

Another vote for standard boxes if it means more SACDs.
