Any comments on this performance? I'm looking forward to the release!

This is the first Mahler CD I ever bought, and though I haven't heard it in a while it is a pretty good performance, especially the finale which is held together very well.

Having said that I'm not sure it would rank alongside my favourite M5s now - in modern sound I would prefer Chailly, Abbado II and MTT.

But on SACD MTT is a more individual/wayward interpretation, whereas Haitink is straighter and may be more satisfying to many.

I have the Haenchen SACD as well and that is a good performance also.
