According to 2-L:

"Europe's premiere recording in DXD! This recording has been made with DPA microphones, Millennia Media amplifiers, and SPHYNX2 converters to a PYRAMIX workstation, all within the DXD-domain. The introduction of digital audio in the early 80's created a turbulent discussion in the world of Hi-Fi; expressions like "hard and cold", "quantified" and "Vinyl is so much warmer in the sound" was commonly used about the CD-format. DXD now blows the whole discussion off the court; Digital eXtreme Definition is a professional audio format that brings "analogue" qualities in 32 bit floating point at 352.8 kHz. With DXD we sample 11.2896 Mbit/s (4 times the data of DSD). This leaves headroom for editing and balancing before quantizing to DSD. Super Audio CD is the carrier that brings the pure quality to the domestic audience."

That's quite an improvement over their Bartok violin SACD, which was recorded in 24bit 44.1kHz PCM ...

Bartók: Violin Sonatas - Annar Follesø

Yes; we have been waiting for the DXD-format as production in DSD is far from ideal when it comes to editing.

What we can do is to put up some promotional copies for the users of SA-CD.net so you can experience the difference your selves. Send an e-mail to music@2L.no with your postal address. The first 5 responses will receive a free copy of the MOZART :-)

If you are resident of Honolulu, I beleive you are #5 on our list, "flyingdutchman" :-)

Promotional copies will be sent from us Monday to Tommy (Sweden), Graham (UK), Philip (UK), Thomas (USA) and DAN (Honolulu).

As SA-CD.net is a worldwide site I find it fair to also give ASIA and AUSTRALIA a shot in their wake-up-time-zone: The 5 next replies with residence in these continents will also get a free promotional copy of MOZART.

On behalf of everybody here, I'd like to thank Morten for his generosity and wish him success in his efforts with DXD ... something I'm keen to hear for myself.
