My fingers are crossed and my mouth is watering. The way Matt Still mentions that the Greg Penny is doing 5.1 mixes of Elton's older albums sounds like it is still an ongoing process.
I'm planning to hold off on purchasing the new album until I can confirm whether it's being released as an SACD or not.
Thanks for posting the link to the article.

The new album was just released last week. However, in the linked interview with enginneer Matt Still, he revealed that he's working on a new 5.1 surround mix.....

I saw this album in a super jewel box. No any indication it's a sacd. Apparently instead of releasing SACD's they feed us with SACD boxes. Any ideas?

Sounds like one of the "unconfirmed" SACD releases. Until someone makes an official announcement that a SACD version is available, I'd consider the disc inside the Super Jewel Box a regular CD.

The MC mix may be intended for a DualDisc [wash my mouth out with soap :-) ] just I thought I read earlier that Universal wasn't going to release any further SA-CD titles. . . regardless I would have to have a listen to it before I purchase it... I liked his earlier stuff.. heard it that many times on radio though...

I think that DualDisc has been failure, on a worldwide basis. SACD is much more accepted, especially as a hi-rez music medium.

Actually Universal Music released 3 of the Moody Blues SACDs on Sept. 19th and has another SACD due out next week.
So they're still releasing SACDs in the U.S. Just not as many as before...
