Like Claude, I'm on the Hoffman board a fair amount. It's the internet's leading music-related resource for groundless speculation and egregious misinformation.

Well, Tom, at the very least its pulse is healthy.

Perhaps with Steve Hoffman's current involvement with AF's SACD Quad remasters, the anti bias towards multichannel will finally subside.

That aspect of the SHF was always somewhat of a turnoff for me.

I am still well alive without listening to rubbish music, I consider Rock to be the lowest of the low, can not abide long haired tattoed drug ridden scumbags strumming guitars or the constant drum beat UGH. Have you seen the fairly recent BBC documentary on Ginger Baker ?

When I read this I laughed so hard, that is so cool that you got the balls to say that.

The Hoffman forums are loaded with a bunch of fanboys, ready to defend Steve to the hilt. Ridiculous really.

I'm mostly interested in discussions about sound quality, since I don't trust much in other people recommending music ;-)

The audio/music discussion boards I visit are mostly Computer Audiophile and the Steve Hoffman forum.

Besides SACD and CD, I listen to music files a lot, and there are always new things to be learned about that on Computer Audiophile. As far as SACD is concerned, there is also an interesting ripping project that is being discussed there, involving a PS3 drive to be used with a PC.

True, and most visitors are also too much in only classic rock or the Fab Four, but Stevehoffman.tv is offering you lots of love for music and, which is really unique, much insight in masterings, so the sonical qualities of cds and SACDs.

That's why I'm most to find at SHTV.

I would certainly not want to attend a Steve Hoffman forum convention, but there is a lot of useful information to be found on the forum, especially on SACD reissues.

The "Classical Music Corner" on SH is pleasant enough with often useful discussions of certain recordings. I don't pay much attention to the other forums on that site.

I also frequent Audio Aficionado.org, Talkclassical.com, and The Classical Music Guide.com.

lol

Steve Hoffman is not even a mastering engineer which is why Kevin Gray or Stephen Marsh is always next to him. Steve's only talent is hallucinating about celebrity encounters, master tapes and being employed.
