Meridian G08
This doesn't play SA-CDs (other than the CD layer). Pity the owners of premium-priced Meridian gear and not being able to play SA-CDs.

Indeed, I don't know why it was in my list!
By the way, let me do a bit of advertising: I am so happy with my Cary 306 SACD player! The redbook CD sound also is incredibly good, especially in the 512 khz mode (768 is to dry for me). I have never heard such a combination of tone richness, precision and placement of the instruments, deep and wide soundstage, incredibly clean sound in all registers, yet never analytical. The reason why I bought it is after hearing it coupled with the Sonus Faber top of the range Stradivari model, I listened to quite a few of my favorite CDs and SACDs, already praising the quality and the beauty of the tone on these speakers. It was an unforgettable experience (the room was really good too)! Then we listened to the same musics on the Marantz SA-11, and nearly nothing was left of what I thought was the beauty of the speakers, which means that what I loved came from the player. The Cary has such a mellow and full tone quality it made the Marantz sound flat. You know, as if something was trying to prevent the sound come out of the machine (and it wasn't a new player, did not need break in). Anyway, if you want to spend 6000$ really well spent, I give 5 star to the Cary 306!

Perhaps we ought to call this (or start) "The unconfirmed hardware thread".
Yesterday I found this new Pioneer piece, shown at some Japanese high-end audio/video show, AV Festa I believe. You may check out the article (one in a series of show coverage) here: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/docs/20060921/avf3.htm
My Japanese is not up to scratch but I gathered the player PD-D6 will be introduced in December at a price of ¥ 70-80k i.e. $700-800. There are two matching pre/main amplifiers, A-A6 and A-A9 at the same price and ¥ 130k, respectively.
Note how the player seems to be CD/SACD only. Pioneer has come from DVD-Audio only to Universal to SACD, apparently.

By specs, this seems to have what it takes - a new CD/SACD player from NAD.
http://nadelectronics.com/products/cd-players/M5-CD-SACD-Player.
Uh Oh! Sorry, I missed this news on the previous page. However NAD has introduced another universal, the T585. I wonder where this model skimps that will make the price about a grand cheaper compared to the M55 when it arrives here downunder?
