It was quite funny listening to the local classical radio station just now (Kultur Radio Berlin Brandenburg) struggling to be able to play something "from their archive" and ending up with an LPO Rachmaninov Concerto#2!

Seriously. I'm old enough to remember when the BPO wouldn't hire women.

An excellent choice. The opera performances that I have seen him conduct at the Bayerische Staatsoper have been outstanding.

The Digital Concert Hall has a concert in which he conducts one of the most thrilling performances of Elgar's 2nd Symphony that I have heard.
