Typical compilation, sound varies from track to track. I wasn't too impressed.

Surprising, since it was mastered by Kevin Gray who usually does a spectacular job.

BTW, Hoop, do you have the Scorpions SACD from AF, yet? Would like your feedback on that one?

Just received my copy of Reckless today. Will give it a spin later on tonight.

I do but I've been so busy i haven't really sat down and listened to it carefully

Just got Black Sabbath 13 Blu Ray, sounds very good, only 2 channel but nice full sound.

Thanks for the heads up on Sabbath........it's received some great reviews (musically) so good to hear the BD~A does it justice.

Posters over at QQ that had a preliminary listen to the QUAD AF "Best of the Guess Who" are raving about it. Can't wait 'til December 30th....and ditto for BS&T's second album in QUAD.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Hoop. We're expecting a winter storm in the Northeast. Fun, Fun, FUN!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too Ralph. We had a storm here in the Mid-west but wasn't too bad. Winter just starting way too early.

Sunny and warm in Calif, until Sat then an onslaught of rain, we need it.

I am thinking about starting a Rock Thread on SACD.net of course within the guidelines of Zeus and SACD.net.

Lots of rock stuff is being talked about on a lot of threads, be nice to have one.

What do you guys think?

I see a Black Sabbath Paranoid Blu Ray on Amazon. Any good.
I really like my 2 disc RBCD and DVD that I got yesterday.

Don't see 13 for sale Blu Ray Amazon.

Back to Time Pieces, the 1982 RBCD has a DR of 12 which is great.

I purchased the AF of Journeyman, although it felt like a good reissue sonically it was not a big enough, iconic, disc for me to warrant the additional cost. I feel the same way about this new SACD Hybrid.

A Rock Thread: Go for it, Mark.

AmazonUK has Sabbath 13 but it's still too high (price~wise).

Glad you're enjoying the Paranoid DVD/CD set.

IMHO, they should've likewise gone for a 5.1 remix of "13."

BTW, it was 70 in New York on Monday (and in the 'teens' the week before.....go figure).

Mark, if you're interested in the Tull "Warchild" set (remixed by Steve Wilson but only lossy DTS 5.1 and a flat 96/24 stereo transfer), the best price is DeepDiscount.com (about $26 delivered).
