I am loving the Tomita releases onto SACD. I have now 3 of his titles, with another on it's way. I was wondering if he would consider releasing his "Bermuda Triangle" in the same manner. This was another album made for M/C. I always thought this album was a Sci-Fi movie but in audio.

Yes, I agree. They really are great releases, and I look forward to more coming out. I have Claire de Lune, Pictures at an Exhibition, and both of The Planets albums, Ultimate Edition and Planet Zero, as well as the DVD-A edition called The Planets 2003.

I'm looking most forward to Firebird and Kosmos.

An amazing musician, especially considering he must still be working producing this new stuff.

I too am looking forward to more of his old recordings to make their way onto multichannel SACDs. Bermuda Triangle is probably my favorite of all of his recordings.

May I ask what the difference is between Planet Zero and the Planets Ultimate edition? I have ultimate already, but I'm not sure if there is anything on planet zero which isn't already on his other SACDs?

Bermuda Triangle is one of those Tomita albums I originally owned on LP, along with most of the others.

In very simple terms, and my words won't do it justice, is that the Ultimate Edition is purely electronic (like the Tomita most of us know), whereas Planet Zero incorporates a real person playing a real trumpet. The mix of a real instrument and synthesised music might sound odd to those that know and like Tomita's music, but I find it quite pleasant. The only other difference is an additional two tracks (so-called bonus tracks), not related in any way to The Planets. Where I am right now, I don't have access to the albums, but I'm fairly confident one of the tracks is called Tristan and Isolde, i.e. a Richard Wagner piece. The bonus tracks are tracks 1 and 2 on the album, and I know that I like them.

Initially, I wasn't convinced that I wanted to own 3 different versions of what is basically the same album, but I'm glad that I do.

For those interested, I have just received a newsletter e-mail from a UK-based vendor I use sometimes for certain Japanese SACDs.

Here below is an extract from the e-mail regarding a potential new Tomita SACD:-

"We are often asked when more Tomita SACD Surround Sound CDs will be released, and at the beginning of March, Space Fantasy will be out. Details are a bit sketchy, but it looks like it includes all tracks from Cosmos (confusingly released at different times under the titles Kosmos and as Space Fantasy all with slightly differing track listings) and a couple of tracks each from Bermuda Triangle and Firebird."
