They are very good. The DSD downloads are taken from Analog Tapes used in Japan to create the CTI releases.

But in some cases, the current CD version, mastered from the actual master tape and not a japanese copy, sounds a lot better.

Left Handed Dream and The Arrangement are now scheduled for release later this month (Jan 2015)

Next up for a new DSD mastering is ONGAKUZUKAN / aka Illustrated Musical Encyclopedia

I also see Playing the Orchestra 2014 will have a blu-ray release in March though I'm not clear on the audio content here.

I just revisited Ongakuzukan via a Japanese CD last week. It's a title that I always enjoyed ever since I first had a Japanese LP in the early 80s. I'd love to hear it in DSD, but I only do discs not downloads. Let us know how you like it!

I finally purchased Illustrated Musical Encyclopedia from ototoy.jp in 2.8MHz DSD.
I think the mastering team has continued to deliver tastefully done remasters for this series and this particular tile also has the advantage of a large number of "bonus tracks". So for me, well worth the purchase.

Next up for release is Esperanto.

Since this series seems to be focused on Nakamoto's MIDI/Alpha label releases, I'm hoping we'll see B2-Unit and Futurista announced soon...

Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of buying the SHM-CD from cd-japan, but I don't know if I'll hear much difference from the previous Japanese remaster I bought 10 or so years ago.

I did recently buy the SHM-CDs of Left-Handed Dream and The Arrangement. They sound very nice, but maybe not any better than the original US LP that I still have in good condition. It's hard to compare, because the mixing was slightly different on the US release.

Anyway, I recommend both titles for Sakamoto fans.
