I'm looking forward that Pentatone will re-release this classic account in their REMASTERED CLASSICS. Is it possible? I want to hear your comments.

The discs had recorded in the middle of 1970s by using analogue technology (AAA Stereo). Kleiber's approach is still - I bought the album about five years ago - my own favorite. There are lots of noises and different effects: the off-stage voices - discussions, demonic laugh etc. The Wolf Glen's Scene is simply terrific. What do you think? I really hope that this is also quad.

If it is an analogue recording,wy does it say "original image bit processing" on the cover?
There are no bits to process with analogue recordings.

Well, I'm not sure. But the booklet contains the following text:
"All recordings in the series (The Originals) have been newly refurbished using Deutsche Grammophon's latest technology in order to "recreate" the original sound-image of these legendary interpretations".

Thomas,

Would only your work be used for future release by Pentatone? Were there others involved in recordings produced during those years by DG and would they have been produced in 4 channel?

This is what he has said here and elsewhere:

I made about 35 quad productions totaling 50 LPs for DG in the 70s, and I estimate that these may be only about fifteen percent of the total DG quad recordings made at that time, as all my colleagues were producing everything in quad then too.

I know that no other DG producer was recording in that configuration (360 degrees of direct sound sources, rather than only ambiance in the rear), and would be surprised if any of the Philips people had been doing so.

This may have been commented on, so please forgive me if I am being repetitive, but was Carlos Kleiber's Der Freischutz recorded in Quad, and, if so, can we expect it to be included in the releases from Pentatone?

Thanks. I don't go back in threads to search for comments made by others as the search tool won't allow for that. So, if he has said it here or elsewhere (of which I wouldn't see), you'll just have to put up with it.
