Are you saying you don't like the SHM-CD? I think it sounds pretty good.

Moonmadness on SHM~SACD AFAIK has not been released. In fact, an email from CDJapan indicated that the release date has been delayed until April.

Thanks very much for the delay info. Gives me more time to save up. As to the SHM-CD, I felt its 'resolution' was top-notch but my system isn't really high-end and that may translate as meaning it's not forgiving of digital 'brittleness', which I REALLY noticed on _Moonmadness_. It isn't that way on all SACDs, as you might guess from my comments on _Octopus_, which I auditioned on the same setup.

I'm confused, are you talking about The Snow Goose SHM-SACD? Moonmadness and Rain Dances has not been released yet.

No, I AM confused... I see now how I was unintentionally unsync'd. I have the SHM-CDs of the 1st 5 CAMEL. _Moonmadness_ and _Rain Dances_ are both quite harsh to my ears... and I ADORE both of them musically. After all they're ALL from Universal so I didn't pop for the SHM-SACD of _Snow Goose_ fearing it would have a similar downside. And I don't have to tell you about pricey with these things I'm sure. But it varies from disc to disc as you know. I have the SHM-SACD of _Aja_ and it's distractingly brittle to me. Thank Divine Love that _Octopus_ is not. It's wonderful in every way I can evaluate. Thanks for clarifying me.

Oh, well that makes sense. I would rate The Snow Goose as one of the best sounding SACD's in my collection, it's a real pleasure to listen to. Actually it was mastered by the same engineer who did Octopus - Manabu Matsumura.
