If you don't already have this SACD of Machine Head, Fugue (Japanese 2011 reissue) I wholeheartedly recommend it as its a DSD t/fer of the PCM 96/24 MultiCh DVD-Audio (my preferred surround mix).

fredblue, you are a trip. Years ago, I had a list of the remixed 5.1 but never released titles from Warners/Universal and misplaced it and presto, it appears miraculously courtesy of fredblue.

But I still wish they'd release the BD~As independently instead of clumping them together with RBCDs and charging a premium.

But according to the folks @ Blu.ray.com.......the RBCDs that accompany Moondance are supposed to be spectacular so that's my next listening project.

Presently, I'm spinning the new MoFi SACD (stereo, only) of Hall and Oates "Voices," imagining how it might sound in 5.1........After hearing Moondance I wish they were ALL 5.1 Elliot Scheiner/Steve Wilson surround remixes!

Here's HOPING.

Received my back~up Dualdisc copy of the Late Scottish singer/songwriter Jackie Leven's "Shining Brother/Shining Sister" today from Amazon. Don't quote me on this but it's a cross between Moondance and Veedon Fleece and the 5.1 surround mix is resplendent. And for under $7 brand new......an absolute steal.

oh rammiepie there's so many more unreleased 5.1's..!! this is just a smattering off the top of my head of all the missed opportunities in surround/Hi-Rez I've learned about these last few years.

talking of more unreleased 5.1's... how about The Doobie Brothers' "Minute By Minute".. certainly in the can and ready to rock and roll..!!

EMI/Capitol have a slew too.. even some Classic Bowie.. including "Scary Monsters And Super Creeps".. Tony Visconti has referred to these surround mixes in interviews.. still M.I.A.. maybe the time has come now with Blu-ray Audio...??

Just ordered Lovekraft by Super Furry Animals.

A bargain at 4.29 of my English pounds, so got to be worth a gamble for the privilege of a pop rock SACD.

So I finally got to listen to this last night. And wow. I mean WOW. Rocket man was so well done. Not gimmicky. Just so multi layered.

Lest everyone think "Rocket Man" is a one-off here, most of "Honky Chateau" is this way.

Notice the third track of title, where the pseudo tap-dance moves completely round the room. This is just one instance.

Well done.

Another overlooked gem: MIRA by artist Jienat. OK, it's a 2L BD~A/SACD combo but it has some exciting rhythmic cuts....even won an award in 2010 as one of the twenty best Global Recordings.

Great immersive surround and a way cool cover!
