Thanks for the further information on Marantz - really helpful. I will also keep an open mind regarding the Denon as well.

Marantz will release the PM6005 in September that has a digital input. The DAC used is capable of DSD processing but I don't know if that functionality is available. It is an entry level stereo amplifier and the previous model was rated high by Whatshifi.uk and I am curious if it will accept DSD encoded signals.

The simple answer is No, simply because PM6005 does not posess either a USB or HDMI input ( just coaxial and optical digital inputs and analog of course too ). Without either of these two digital inputs there can be no way to stream DSD into the amplifier, so it would be moot even if the DAC was technically DSD capable.
