Performance:   Sonics:
I had been looking forward to this disc as I have picked up on the artist in quite a few country albums.Having played it four times or so I still feel as though my initial reaction on first hearing stands. The composition of the main work has some interest in the central two movement and the composer seems to be making hard work with thin material of spring and winter...The following strings and threads is a veiled jig walz blues and swing medley the final Appalachia walz could do with being a bit more of either...,,The playing is ok but wont get you sitting on the edge of your seat listening and the recording is smooth detailed and underdynamic. The Sony case is a standard Cd but we have plenty of sleeve notes and pictures.Neither of which improves the sonic presentation.I only have stereo so perhaps there may be something in the surround sound that may excite listeners but to me this one of my least interesting sacds so far.
