When I bought this album I thought it was a good idea. I had not heard it since the late 80’s and had great memories of it. Well I must admit things change. Wham! (George Micheal and friend) are a great example of why a lot people seem to hate 80’s music. This album is filled with irritatingly over produced music. And is pretty much the 80’s equivalent of the kind of drivel Britney Spears, Blue, Backstreet boys made during the 90’s and are still making. It’s a complete waste of time and money, and only interesting for 12 to 20 year olds with bad taste.
Don’t waste your hard earned money on this expensive Japanese Import, which by the way only contains about 30 minutes of music.
Sound quality is not bad, quite decent actually. But good quality sound does not make up for the fact the music is far from interesting.

The album that introduced the world to Andrew Ridgeley. Oh, and some guy named George Michael. One of the extreme examples of bubblegum pop comes courtesy of Sony Japan with the SACD release of Wham!'s Make it Big.
While the title was approriate, time has not been kind to the material. Some of the stupidest songs of the 80's are here. Both "Credit Card Baby" and "Wake me up before you go-go" are just plain embarassing. How "Wake me" ever became a hit is beyond me. However, all is not lost. "Everything she wants" and "Careless Whisper" are songs that do not seem to belong here. There is a hint of the talent to come with these songs. However, they are over shadowed by the rest of the drivel on this album.
The ironic part is that this stuff has never sounded better. In particular, "Careless Whisper" almost sounds like a new song, in comparison to any redbook version I have heard. The lyrics come through very clean and the disc has a warm and appealing sound that fits the material. Too bad that most of it is not anything you would probably want to listen to today.
