Stevie Wonder: Fulfillingness' First Finale SHM SACD Stereo Only.
This is a Japanese re release from 2011. This serial #UIGY-9616 released 11-26-2014. Original release 1974, Grammy winner, Album of the Year, 1974. His 17th studio album, a genius to say the least.
The other SHM SACD's and 1 BD~A I have I think I like a little better. So now I get confused as for me, this performance dips a bit, more stripped down as they say, but yet, Album of the Year.
Performance: Subtle. This disc just before the massive Songs In The Key of Life. Maybe Stevie was in a creative warm up, but pulls off Album of the Year. Oh, well lets just let me be confused. Performance has deep meaning, with songs like They Won't Go When I go, very spiritual. Fun tunes like Boogie On Reggae Woman and the big #1 hit, You Haven't Done Nothin. You see it is all there. The opening track to the end has many a jazz feel. Stevie's voice is very spectacular.
Stereo Sonics: Another warm sounding disc. This one does sound a little better with a higher volume. It does sound a little flatter, not as thick as the others I have. When a song starts off it is incredibly good, but when it all comes together is when the depth of sonics flattens out a bit. I am being highly critical and maybe not even necessary but having just listened to Hotter Than July, I do hear a bit of a difference.
Packaging: Plastic jewel case with square corners. Green label disc. Mini paper booklet with original liner notes and reissue notes. Lyrics included. Mini paper booklet, black and white, in Japanese.
So as not to be confused, I love having this disc as it rounds out my Stevie SHM SACD collection. Just won't be my go to disc. Lots of great highs and some lows on this disc.
