And here we go!.....this SACD sounds really well! The sound is well detailed and balanced through stereo channels.
I mean....i grew up with this record and i say that, IMHO, this is a great album and this SACD mix could be the definitive recording masterpiece.
In other words...buy it!

This is one of five new Shm SACDS I HAVE PURCHASED of titles that were out of print. Of the five I did buy and listen to multiple times this one sounds better in one way but worse in another.

Musically I was not aware of this band and decided to take a chance. I would say that stylistically they are a combo of soft rock and jazz with a bit of new wave thrown in for good measure. I would say most of the album is enjoying save for several songs which have the usual 80's style drumming that IS WOODEN AND DEAD............you know of what I speak if you listen to 80's music. For my tastes this album has 8 standout tracks out of 13.

Now the sound; the 4 stone's SACDS I BOUGHT WERE HEAVILLY COMOPRESSED with a nasty treble boost. Played at loud volumes I simply lost focus and found myself reaching for the volume to turn it down. This reissue has to be cranked rather loud with nary any of the aforementioned nasties present. But then I could detect a decrease in actual resolution.........as if the original transfer was redone but using pcm technology in the mix to down convert the higher bit rate. The sound is rather simple and bland...as if some musical neutering was done. I found my mind thinking on other things.........and this never.........ever happens when I hear the real deal.

I did go back and forth listening to other shm sacds ....and I must say the difference is truly remarkable in every way. I have a rather large collection of many sacds and of true bonafide Shm SACDS and none of them sound anything like these pretenders. Can you say ripped off??? Say it over and over again mates....cuz that's what happened here.

THESE ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL DSD TRANFERS........THEY HAVE BEEN CHEAPENED AND TAMPERED WITH.
Not recommended...buy the regular cd.
