I was NOT prepared to like this album (which later turned to TRUE LOVE) but 12 cuts later, I was absolutely blown away by this blues extravaganza, stupendously recorded in pure DSD. The Mighty Horns which back Mighty Sam create a wall of sound which envelops the listener and with shades of the Allman Brothers and late 60's Al Green (before he became Reverend Al), Mighty Sam's vocals seduce with wisdom and grace.
Top tapping inducing and spiritually uplifting in a good way, I heartily recommend BLUES FOR THE SOUL to every listener with a heart and a penchant for music making at its very best.
The sound on this 2000 SACD Stereo release rivals anything I've heard (including SHM~SACDs) in this format!
