Not much to say about this album except for the title speaks for itself. Soul on Jazz, Philip sings some Jazz songs with a Soul approach and Soul songs with a Jazz approach.
All in all a nice album to listen to, great background music when you doing something else. But also great to listen to sitting down with a glass of your favourite.......

This recording sounds amazing. Sonically it’s one of my favourite SACDs. Musically it’s top 20.

i don't really "do reviews," and i mostly listen to classical. but this sacd is just fantabulous and i am a member of the philip bailey fan club now! i've actually had the disc for a year or so, and always liked it, but i just set up my sacd playback properly, with five matched speakers and a sub, and i listened to the whole thing all the way through; not a bad song or arrangement to be found. bailey, his musicians, and the recording and engineering are excellent, fun, and should be a "10" for anyone with a soft spot for classic soul and jazz. i would give it 20 stars for multichannel sonics if i could. hats off to mr. bailey and crew.
