Performance: Sonics (S):
Never heard of the performers but they did a very creditable job of intepretation and performance. Their versions were freshingly unique without being weird or jarring. They were unfailingly entertaining, neither overpolished and sterile nor rough and underdone. I suspect that Hoagy would be proud.
The sound was right there - lots of presence and fullness in both the voices and the instruments. Some of the horn sonics are real standouts in quality of reproduction. Note I only listened in stereo to the SACD tracks.
