I just finished listening to this SACD for the second time. IMHO, this album is like Yola with a deeper emotional impact. There’s plenty of humor and irony coming through because the lyrics are expressive and not trite (they are included in the booklet). All the songs have catchy tunes and are surprisingly upbeat.
Take note that this is a stereo SACD only, NOT multi-channel. There’s no indication anywhere that this is an original DSD recording. However, this should not stop you from getting the disc. The sound is warm and immediate with plenty of details. Warmly recommended!

E. McEvoy vcl & g & eg & vib-synth & p & ep & kb & eb & shaker & violin & synth-b & dr-prg & mandolin & marimba-synth, L. Bradley dr & perc & whistle, D. Rotheray b & eg, Moscodisc 2006.
Singer/songwriter-folk-pop from an Irish lady who plays almost every instrument by herself and who has written all the songs but two, one of them a very exciting version of Marvin Gaye´s Mercy Mercy Me. Her own songs are captivating, too, the arrangements diverted and thrilling. E. g. she accompanies herself with a bass guitar or an electric guitar only. Her voice and singing has huge intensity and remind me of Suzanne Vega. The sound is good, sometimes edgy with too high bass-levels and an “essy” voice when played loud (forgot the de-esser?), but dynamic, rich of colour, good soundstage and imaging. A nice folk-pop disk, anyway.
