Very clear and clean recording with lots of details and great dynamics.

At first I really dug the multichannel mix and its aural effects, but after repeated listenings I realized I was solely mesmerised by hearing one of my favorite Stravinsky pieces in surround sound. There was somehing missing...the previous reviewer has put it quite bluntly. This performance is lifeless, stifled and safe.

Performance:   Sonics:
Though I agree that these performances are a little laid back for me that is not a totally bad thing. All great composers can tolerate different methods of interpretation. It is just excellent to have all these chamber pieces on SACD. They are spicy; just about at my limit of tolerance for astringedness (like the Channel Classics Revueltas disc), but very enjoyable.
The sound is absolutely magnificent in MC though turn your rears down a few notches as there can be reflections coming from the rears in louder passages. Listen to how full-bodied the brass and percussion are!

These Chamber orchestra works of Stravinsky get exemplary performances from Paavo Jarvi and his Orchestra.
All members of the Deutsche KammerPhilarmonie Bremen are virtuoso players. ANd their playing trascends the group, giving detailed individual performances, with many very rich and rewarding performance details. Jarvi leads his forces with finesse, which is essential in the Stravinsky music of this compositional period.

As all Pentatone releases I have heard so far, the sound is very natural and balanced, with outstanding multichanel details.
Great disc.
