The “little big band” Big Bop Nouveau plays nine tracks here, some well known standards and some less known compositions. This has been a fantastic band, perfect in ensemble playing as well as in soloing. Ferguson`s trumpet reaches hights that hurt the ears and the band around him plays a highly energetic straight ahead jazz capturing you from the start with their thrilling interpretations an furious playing.
The sound of the disc is a bit compressed, lacking some timbre and air for the individual instruments.
