Performance: Sonics:
The wonderful RIAS-Kammerchor stands out both sonically and musically in this recording. The choir and soloists blend well and all sing with such ease and feeling for this music that is such a delight just to lean back, relax and enjoy. The acoustics give you more of a church feeling than many other Harmonia Mundi Bach recordings that tend to have a compressed artificial (close-miked?) sound. The difference between CD and SACD Stereo is marginal.
