I prefer her studio work, but this is modern, blue & cool too.... But what's with the shorts? Isn't it freakin' cold in Chicago?

i'm Patricia's fan and this is one of the best albums.
music is quite simple and not "crazy" like in Verse and will suite most of the people.
"black magic woman" cover is great.

soundwise all her MFSL discs are perfect and great fun listening to.

i have this disc on FIM's XRCD and SACD clearly sound better.

IMO this is the best release ever done by Patricia Barber. She has quite some personality in her approach to jazz music (and I like that!). The recording quality is among the very best ever released on SACD. Highly recommended. Bravo.

I am not going to discuss the performance here because I absolutely LOVE all Patricia barber's albuma.
Sonically speaking this SACD is (like all the other Patricia Barber SACDs) one of the best SACDs I've ever heard! Absolutely stunning!
