Performance:
We have many reconstructions of Mozart's Requiem. Masato Suzuki's arrangement is one of the most interesting modern versions. There are also Amen fuga, which often deleted from performances.
Suzuki is well-known about his magnificent Bach interpretations. Bach Collegium Japan is also very good in Mozart's music. For example, the powerful Dies Irae is very effectively, and the sorrowful Lacrimosa sounds beautiful.
Very interesting account! I'm looking forward... Perhaps Suzuki and his forces will record Mozart's Mass in C minor.

Performance:   Sonics:
What a surprise! What a revelation! Mozart’s Requiem under the baton and according to Masaaki Suzuki is a musical experience that will haunt one’s spirit for a long time to come. Totally inspired and delivered with both depth and lightness, the great work by the Salzburg master is reborn in a new sound dimension culminating in the “Lacrimosa” that will make stones weep. And the few seconds of the “Amen” composed by the Japanese conductor integrate perfectly with the musical discourse. As a bonus, “The Vespers of a Confessor” equally enchant. Let us also praise the performances of the soloists (Carolyn Sampson, Marianne B. Kielland, Makoto Sakurada, Christian Immler) and the Bach Collegium Japan. Here is version of Mozart’s Requiem that is definitely a reference on SACD, in a superlative sound recording.
