This is a very enjoyable recording - I especially liked Symphony No. 9. The sound quality is very good although not as dimensional as some of the Telarc and Channel Classics SACD recordings. The brass passages sound a little on the bright side. |

This is actually a glorius musical recording with excellent hall ambience and a great deal of dynamic range. The listening experience is only slightly hampered by some background noise on this SACD. Old standards are given a 'modern cool' treatment - some a little over the top IMHO. The album sounds like it was recorded slight too 'hot' for my tastes with some of the high frequencies more harsh than many of SACD recordings such as the Telarc recordings I have.
