In the booklet we are informed that there is a substantial change in orchestral set-up betweeen Don Quixote and Don Juan. The former is recorded in 1959 and the latter in 1954. The Swedish conductor Herbert Blomstedt recorded two Bruckner symphonies for Denon in the eighties. The fourth and the seventh and the latter is in my opinion one of the finest ever. Plenty of excitement here. David Chesky´s music is extrovert, rhytmically alive and sometimes evocative. Three concertos all following the same formula. Sharon Bezaly is the flute. She is as good as a flutist can ever be and a musician up there among the best ever. Her technique is perfect as is her musicianship.
