Hardly a household name but another suprisingly excellent disc from Dacaopo.The varied works and the Opening Ballet Benzin,Petrol in English or Gasoline west of the pond.(GAS is something totally different in the English Dictionary.)

A truly fantastic album, filled with adventurous songwriting and aggressive playing, but utterly ruined by the production. I bought this SACD and immediately regretted it. DO NOT MISS THIS!!! I had to order a copy from Caiman in Canada via Amazon. The Walton is PHENOMENAL. I think this performance can stand next to the Heifetz premiere recording of 1941. The playing is so good and self-assuredly virtuosic it will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck!
