I can echo the comments made by the first reviewer, but I would go so far as to give this SACD the 5 out of 5 star rating. The blues on this album is original, heartfelt and acoustic but without the rawness that characterises some other 'original' delta blues albums. In that sense this is indeed a ... more |

This album is about 30 years old (1973 - unbelievable how time flies when you're looking back on it) and it still sounds fresh, to these ears at least. But Jazz-Fusion can sound a bit mixed up to me - being neither one nor the other. And on some cuts it works better than on others. I like the ... more |

As I thought about the review for this album an analogy came to mind with a Murray Parahia piano recital that I recently attended with 2 other people. Great movies often have great sound tracks, and this is no different. I loved the movie, and listening to this SACD engenders the emotion of the movie. Highly recommended. |
