If you like David Sylvian you stand a good chance of liking this one - a lot! Not that Beck is not an original artist in his own right. The album definitely has its own signature. Like all 22 of the ABKCO recordings, this is well done. All previous Stone CDs should be destroyed. The trouble is deciding which of the 22 albums to buy--especially since many are "greatest hits" type of albums. I like Billy Joel and this album has 4 or 5 very good hits/songs. Unfortunately, I don't care much for the others and the album only has 9 songs, so the 5 hits only work out to about 20 minutes of good music. Truly one of the best performances of the Manfred I have heard in some time. The individual instruments are wonderfully caught and Kobayashi does a good job of controlling the raging emotions found in this music. Quite expensive, though. About $45-50 for just this one SACD.
